Was wondering if anyone is like me and wants to sneak in a few more chickens to their flock, even though they are only allowed a certain number by the town ordinance. I have bantams-with "chicken math", I fiqure they are about 1/2 or 1/3 the size of regular chickens so I should be allowed more-lol. What do you think?

I used to live in a town that only allowed 3 chickens. I had one banty hen that had 6 chicks.. I got the hen for free and her chicks came with her. And I also had 2 ducks.. One duck.. The cayuga was real loud and got me in trouble. The pekin was quiet. But I have heard others say opposite of the two. I didnt keep the chickens for long. I gave them to some 4-H kids after the fair was over.

We definitely have more than we should, but I am like you. Mine are bantams, so I figure it takes a couple of them to make a standard chicken.

I know the town won't feel that way, but it's all good until someone complains. Our town ordinance actually says there is a limit of 12 "fowl" allowed per household.

I have a large backyard with lots of trees and a 6 foot fence all around. The hens I have now are soooo quiet. People don't even know i have chickens till they stick their heads over to look-lol. One of my hens is sitting on some eggs right now. I know I will fall in love with at least some of the chicks-hehe. Will not keep any roos though-that would be pushing it!

My town says 3 hens, max.
I have 5 pullets.
I figured I might loose 1 or 2, so I got extra.
Oh well, all 5 are still alive

I guess I'll have to hide 2 in the garage if any of my neighbors complain...
