hey at least your community service kid was polite!

I did some Outward Bound type work with kids from troubled homes, inner city kids mostly, and some from boy's and girl's homes. there are a LOT of things they don't know about... anything that goes on outside the concrete arena they live in is a mystery.

Yeah, but when you're in their jungle they can show you around! I don't fault the kids for not knowing, especially in our society where chicken and eggs come from Kroger or Albertsons and live chickens are never seen.

A friend of mine was in the coop with me a few weeks ago and a RIR stood up and dropped a nice brown egg, and she said quite queasily "I never knew that is where they came from." I responded to her those white eggs at the store come from the other end. Least to say I do not think she will be eating any more eggs anytime soon.

LOL - Love reading these stories!

I have a friend who thinks it's gross that our breakfast eggs are so fresh that they're still warm from being under the chook... apparently it's as icky as sitting on a toilet seat that's still warm from the last person who sat there. LOL
