Do you name your birds

I always have to name my chickens. and I never use the same name twice. so I'm constantly trying to find new names. sometimes I have to resort to BYC to name them.

I don't reuse names, either. Good to know I'm not the only one who is that kind of crazy.

Agree, not crazy at all! I also don't reuse names, except in very rare cases like one of my roosters, Gus, who reminded me so much of my first Gus that I just had to name him after him. His name is technically Gus II, but of course I just call him Gus for short.

We have an Astro II for that same reason!

I will always re-name my bad roosters. their new name is always Gaston

My bad roosters usually just go to freezer camp, personally. I've had enough good roosters that I've lost any patience with keeping the bad ones.

my wife chose names for our original 12. but when we picked them up, 4 were identical to each other, 3 more identical to each other, and two sets of twins.

the only bird who got a name was our rooster.

we’ve since added 4 birds who have names, since they’re distinct looking.

I try not to name my birds. I mean their lives can end in so many ways and I mean they are food themselves. To me none of that means I cannot be friends with them or show them love.

I only name the ones I plan on culling that year. This year I culled Cluck Schumer and Nancy Pecklosi.
