You mean one needs permit for Campbells, Rouens, Appleyards or Runners?

I bet 99% of duck owners in Fl does not even know it if that's the case.

I believe after last Muscovy gate caused by some Gov idiot, one needs permit for Muscovies, and they are not alowed as pets.

There is lots of confusion lately which ducks need the licence or not.

They will soon require licence for keeping chickens. LOL

yep, was just made aware of the fact that Georgia now bands ALL captive bred migratory waterfowl!!!! Period, no permit for them unless they are for education or exhibit, ie ZOOS

This is , well one of many words I can think of to describe it... This laws REALLY needs to be removed. As long as you are keeping properly marked, captive bred migratory waterfowl, with a USF&WS Permit, there's no call for the state to band them. They say it is to protect native Georgia species from private capture, and such.
Bull, there's no sense in this law. people have raised these for hundreds of years in captivity.

Like the lady who pointed it out to me said, you can kill them in Georgia, you just cant propagate and protect the species, some logic right?
Funny thing is, most game wardens, and government officials in the GA DNR dont even know their own laws pertaining to this. There is a local state farmers advertising paper here in Georgia, put out by the Dept of Agriculture, and they allow ads selling these birds. The Georgia Game Bird Breeders Association even says there arent any laws like this, BUT, I just saw them with my own eyes, and read e-mail correspondences from DNR Officials who say it is so...
They say to contact your Congressman about it and complain, so any Georgia resident who is concerned about this, should do so. It also includes most any bird classed as game birds.

Me being a big lover and ex long time breeder of thousands of migratory ducks, lets it really get under my skin, as I was just about to start recollecting my birds, now it's illegal to own them....
contact me if you would like more info on this
