Do you need to cut ducks nails?

I need to trim my duck's nails but I'm afraid to cut through the vein

I suggest anyone using pedipaws or a dremmel using ot on themselves first, the friction causes extreme heat very fast. It has to be painful, i have had excellent luck with all pet nail trimming by making them comfortable by keeping them upright and in a place they like.. like on the couch when my wife isn’t looking. Lift up one paw at a time (or foot) and trim carefully. I realize ducks are a different process but the same rules apply.

I’ve had ducks for a year now and a half now. And today is the first time I ever trimmed them. It’s winter here so not much to scratch them down themselves. All 9 of my ducks needed a trim some more than others, I use cat clippers
