Do you paint nest boxes dark on inside?

Do you paint the inside of your nest boxes with a dark color?

I painted mine dark blue to offset the inside of the coop which is a sunny yellow.

Haha! good idea! Mine coop is going to be Cornmeal yellow ironic huh? Do they like it better if it's dark in the nest box?

Nothing is painted in my coop including nestboxes. I know of no scientific reason to paint them dark, but whatever works

. Mine frequently use the corner or some other inconvenient spot.

They do get painted but it's the same inside and out for my ease of use and care. they get fresh paint every yr but the color is whatever I have on hand to mix, last year it 30 gal to paint it inside and out.

The inside of my coop is lilac and the nest box is dark purple, with a dark purple curtain.

They seem to like it.
