just wondering, those of you who raise Cornish X's, do you process all the birds at once or do you stagger it? for instance you order 20 cornish x's and after a few weeks they are ready for butchering do you do all 20 at once, freeze them and start over with a new batch ? I would think at that rate you would run out of freezer space in a hurry. whats the method to your madness?

quadcam....this year we only had 25 CC to process. We did about 7 to 10 a day. Not too bad. Our plan next year is portable tractors...order 25 chicks...waite 4 weeks, and order 25 more...and keep up till we have 100 or so, in the freezer. figure 52 weeks in a year, thats only chicken twice a week.(IF all 100 live to process)Yes we have a LARGE freezer, and are planning to get another for just chicken and veggies. If you stagger them 4 weeks...and the weathre cooperates...you will have them outside on pasture most of the time.
