You can do both. I prefer to take them out.

I take them out for a deep clean. Or I will just sprinkle clean shavings if it’s not too dirty.

I take them out. I like to get them outside pretty early if I can so I’ll use the opportunity of them being in their run to clean. It’s not easy to scoop wood pellets with a bunch of chicks running around on them.

I was thinking that as well. I also don't want to terrify them but I guess catching them and moving them would be better than the cleaning with them in there.

It’s good to have them used to being handled once in a while anyways, it won’t be the last time you have to move them.

I do until they're a few weeks old so I don't stress them out by 'chasing' them with the scooper
