Do You Support Term Limits for Congress? Please Vote!

Not only do I believe in term limits for Congress, but I believe in term limits for all elected positions on all levels. I trust none of them regardless of party. Politician is a dirty word. Sorry to sound jaded and cynical, but I am. I vote because we have the right and responsibility, but I usually find myself voting for that which I regard as the lesser of two evils. Honest, in all other things I am an optimistic upbeat person.

Three thoughts:

1. only if every state has the same term limits

b. only if the allowed term limits are a reasonable period of time: i.e. the person in office is actually there long enough to learn what he/she is doing

iii. the power of the people who stay in Washington - the lobbyists - would be greatly increased by term limits unless there is some sort of fundamental shift in how Washington is run, and if you believe there would be, I have swamp land and bridges to sell.

Haven't voted because I don't "do" FOX News (or MSNBC or any other TV news organization) because they are all B.S. "infotainment" instead of actual news. I stick with the BBC for my news.

You mean you were not picked up today by the Feds?

You bet there should be term limits; and none of the bennies either!

I hope this means we'll be getting a lot of new Senators and Representatives come November.

This is how I see it.

Senators should have no more than two terms or 12 years.

Congressmen should have no more than 6 terms or 12 years.

You could have a combo.

1 term as senator and 3 terms as a representative.... 12 years.

Even that seems like too much.

I'm also for Presidents to serve one 4 year term. period.

I'm of two minds. On the one hand-YES TERM LIMITS.

On the other-if the majority of that Congressperson's constituents feel they are doing a good job and want to continue re-electing them, should they have a right to?
