@Chicken Fury[/]First, ALL the entries were great! I and everyone enjoyed them so much! It would have been hard to choose if we had to do it without doing a random draw, so thank you to EVERYONE who entered! I appreciate all of you who took the time to enter and share your stories of summer!
All 23 entries were entered into a spreadsheet in the order they were posted and given a number. To pick the winners, the random number generator was used.

I guess I'll enter,

My summer was exciting but also very sad.
All my doves came down ill. First it was my oldest dove, Pichon. I hadn't been with him for five days so I thought maybe he was mourning. A few days later when I came to pick him up from my brother who was "watching him", he passed away. No, that was the end of it. A week later Smarty, my egg layer and photo trained dove, fell ill. Within three days she was very weak and by the early morning on the 3rd day, she passed in my hands. Alexander, also fell ill. But did he make it? Yes!!! It's been about 7 weeks now and he has gotten to a "good" point. I had him on 3 medications and 5 vitamins. I spent days and nights helping him. He was nearly at his end. He couldn't hold his head up and I was thinking he would have passed within a few hours. Now, still on vitamins is able to eat drink and fly again.

Here is Smarty looking down at a flower during her photo shoot.
