I had a Crowing Hen, so she was sorta roostery...
It was her crowing that caused her to be put in the house in the first place.
I have hardwood floors and linoleum in the kitchen. Petstain remover works pretty well for Splort. The drier droppings you can just brush up with a dustpan and brush.
i have a bantam cochin that would love to live inside. And I would love to let him my dh says absolutely not. My turkeys also would like to come inside, and to prove it, I have opened the door and let them in. It was amazing how quickly they sat down and watched the goings on inside!
