These patches just showed up two days ago on my Cochin! She is 6 months old. Just started laying last month. No other symptoms, eating fine acting normal! I'm in San Diego and it's been hot and very humid lately. She is one of three girls and no one else has these! She has not been vaccinated. Is there something I can get over the counter? Does she need a vet? Any suggestions will help.. Thank you

No picture. Do an onsite search on fowl pox to see what it looks like. It is a viral infection so antibiotics are not warranted un less she develops a secondary bacterial infection. It is spread by mosquitoes so there is a possibility that your other birds may become infected. Good luck.
