Do you think she'll lay soon?

My 20 week old Cuckoo Marans, who has the biggest and reddest wattles and comb out of my 5, started squatting a few days ago. Today, she went into the coop and hung out there for a few minutes and sang what I thought was the egg song and did the bawk bawk baGAWK twice and LOUD. I got so excited and I took a peek. Nothing. Then a minute later she came out of the coop and started mingling with the other girls. She's acted normal ever since.

So what do you think?? Will she lay soon?

Do you have nesting boxes set up? Sounds to me like she's getting ready. Are you sure she didn't lay in the coop somewhere other than the nesting box?

My ladies had that kind of behavior for about 2 days then finally an egg. So i would think its going to be any day.
