Yes this is what I propose for an alternate method of doing business in America. Work for room, board, and some spending money. It can be done decently, with proper housing and time off. I see it as a way to be globally competitive.

We can't get college grads to work for minimum wage. What makes you think that they'll accept 3 hots and a cot?

I go to college - most of the people going there go to school and work at places like fast food, etc. It's a myth that college grads won't work for minimum wage. People take what they can get. College students are no different. It's amaxing how people here a few sensationalist stories or hear about "trends" and conclude that it must be true.

And there's a % that don't work and run up $100,000 in loans and cry about having to pay them back. And it maybe a smaller % but there the loudest so they do get a disproportional amount of the media attention.

I remember reading about apple workers in China having a high suicide rate.

Yes there was a high number of people who were jumping out of windows from factory dorms, so now there are nets and social workers available for counseling. People need to be treated with decency. My vision of a factory complex would be cool and comfortable. People would want to work and live there and if not they could leave.

It was happening in other places too, not just the Apple factory.
