Do You Think That Banks Are Crooks?

Yes there was a high number of people who were jumping out of windows from factory dorms, so now there are nets and social workers available for counseling. People need to be treated with decency. My vision of a factory complex would be cool and comfortable. People would want to work and live there and if not they could leave.

It was happening in other places too, not just the Apple factory.
So now, the workers are jumping out of the windows for entertainment.

Our standard of living is going down and the standard of living in countries like China is going up - we will meet in the middle a global class of low payed workers without benefits, living wages or job security.
If we meet China in the middle we are in big trouble. I have a friend who spent about 3 months in China. She traveled by river to villages that had no roads, electricity or infrastructure and it was about 10,000 people. That is a long ways from even.

Yes this is what I propose for an alternate method of doing business in America. Work for room, board, and some spending money. It can be done decently, with proper housing and time off. I see it as a way to be globally competitive.
Somehow I do not think you will get much support or interest.

I go to college - most of the people going there go to school and work at places like fast food, etc. It's a myth that college grads won't work for minimum wage. People take what they can get. College students are no different. It's amaxing how people here a few sensationalist stories or hear about "trends" and conclude that it must be true.
There are obvious reasons college kids work for minimum wage jobs. They are flexible and loan payments are based on 15% of thier income.

I think she's talking about while they're still in school when there's no payments.
But you're right on the flexible work hours.

I bet there are a lot of people who would work in exchange for a cool place to live with modern luxuries, food, vacation and a modest pay. I would design the facility so that money wouldn't even be necessary; all that is earned can be saved or spent on other wants. I would even set it up to accommodate small families, different shifts or roles (maintenance, cafeteria, etc.) so that children will be cared for.

You don't seem to have much concept of the lifestyles of the poor and less fortunate, Chickened. This type of arrangement would be a major safety net, a privately run/business guided community, which in theory will help bring us back into competition in the global market by keeping labor costs low - buy American might once again be affordable.
