Do You think this is right?

No I don't think that is right at all! I heard once that if you are an organ donor and you are in critical (SP?) condition, Hospitals don't as hard to revive you. I hope that is not true, but either way my husband and I know what each other want, so do our family's. We would like to donate our organs, but we will decide when we are ready to do that. I told my husband that if something were to happen to him, and he was on life support, I would decide when I was ready to let him go, not the doctors.

I agree! And its scary. They should make that confidential until after you pass on. That way the doctors are not biased when there trying to save you. Im still not sure whether i want to donate or not

I'm listed as an organ donor. DH knows, family knows, fellow EMS personal know.
I know unless you hand me a DNR order I would do everything in my power to save your life. Every EMT I know will tell you the same thing.

I have read horror stories about doctors actually trying to get their patient to die faster so that they could harvest the organs! It involved a doc actually OD'ing a woman's son trying to kill him faster....he lived over 24 hours longer despite the doc's best (or should I say worst) efforts to kill him un-noticed.
I don't want to be an organ donar after I read that.

I would voluntarily sign a DNR, coz I don't want to make a mountain of medical bills only to die a week later, BUT I don't want anybody trying to kill me off faster on purpose either!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and family know that I want to donate my organs, but I don't have it listed on my driver's license. Why take the chance on getting an unethical doctor when you aren't in a position to advocate for yourself?
