do you use a reel lawn mower?

We've used a reel mower for years. You really do need to stay on top of the grass cutting though, I need to mow 2-3 times a week. Not a big problem since our yard isn't much bigger than a postage stamp. It helps if your yard is nice and smooth, no tree roots or bumpy bits. Lately, I've had to share the mower.

Now, if only I could teach them to use it.

We have a reel mower with a bagger...DH loves the sound, the lack of having to run for gas, it is less harsh on his allergies, and the grass looks better. The chickens ducks and rabbits love the salad

We got ours for around $150 at Lowe's. We cut about a quarter acre or so and LOVE IT! We use it weekly to maintain the right length of grass. SO much better than anything else we have had!

I am looking forward to when ours arrives. (I found a Scotts' classic 20 inch cut on sale at Amamzon.com for $99!) Even better, I'm looking forward to WATCHING our daughters push mow the grass!

I love ours, its quiet, does a good job if you keep up with the grass, but best of all, it seems the grass smells better being cut with a reel mower.

how about an electric mower?

or a couple of pygmy goats?

maybe set up a barter with someone to mow your lawn for eggs?

i've wanted to get a reel mower until I read your dilemma and the answers you got,

now i'm thinking about the things above for myself>>>

goodluck

We have a push mover. Hubby replaced the handle bars with a more solid metal pipe. Works great and it saves me a trip to the gym.

Our old gas-powered mower was not self-propelled and weighed close to 80 lbs, so pushing a reel mower will be a joy!

i have a lawnmower that runs on doritos..almost 18 years old and still going strong.
i call him michael!!
