ok, my turn for a random rambling ......

Who here works in the medical field? Doesn't matter in what category, just post. I'll start. I was a Medical Asst. until I went back to school and got my R.N, best thing I ever did. I was hired directly out of school into an ICU at a large trauma facility, and while some-days I feel like I am drowning, it is the best experience in the world.

When I was 19 and 20 I worked at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City Florida for a pediatric cardiologist in the office LOL Does that count???

I was an orthopedic assistant for 5 years til I got married and had children. Went back when my daughter was 6 months old for 2 years and never looked back. I have 3 kids now, and I don't want to go back even though I've been made generous offers. I don't think I want to deal with "sick" people anymore. One thing I can say about my experiences is that I have seen "every" type of broken bone there is.

I am a Clinical Research LVN. We research first In-human Studies. We mostly stick to Diabetic patients, but once in awhile get Healthy Subject studies, and Hormone studies come through as well. Love it.

I'm the administrative assistant to the department chair of family medicine at the University of Toledo College of Medicine. It's a great job, 30 hours a week. However, lay-offs are coming and some department cuts too. We're all kind of on pins and needles.

RN here since '95. Did some med-surg and then 6 years in CCU. After a back injury did risk management in a hospital for a year then home health care, which I do now.

As for now, I'm an unofficial avian vet and holistics nerd who helps people when their birds are sick? LOL

Gah, I'm only a junior in high school

BUT I'll be going to college to be a veterinarian~
