Do your Black Australorp hens go broody?

I have a black autralorp hen and was wondering if she will ever go broody... and will she be a good mother if she does? Tell me about your black australorps!

Hi, I have 2 of them, one just gave me 9/11 chicks, they are 2 wks old. Another one is on 14 eggs as we speak. She is a good mother so far.

I habe a black australorp named artemis. She went broody over some unferile eggs this summer. She laid on broke eggs (the smell was awful), no eggs at all, I had to block coop access from the flock so she would eat something, I always had to manually put her outside. It took about 3-4 weeks for her to snap out of it.

Yes they Do

Well they go broody during July. There not the best mothers but there okay mothers. But it depends on the chickens all chicken have different persnalites
