Yep, they love rafters. I have one goofball who swings on the extension cord at night.

Mine sleep in the very top part of the coop (equivalent of rafters). It's also coolest there. I hadn't planned for them to roost there, I guess they didn't get the memo. I also built a ladder so that they could get down without hurting themselves. They really prefer the high spot.
