Do your chickens like earthworms?

I've heard a lot about how many people's chickens enjoy worms to some extent. So of course I took a few minutes outta the HW schedule to see if mine did.

During scratching, a small group of golden buffs dug up several worms of various sizes, and this is where it gets interesting. They simply watched the worms, not knowing what to do with them, and eventually lost interest. I tried putting worms in front of almost every chicken. With the exception of the wyandottes (who slurped them up in an instant), nobody was interested.

How does everyone else's flock like worms?

Some of mine eat worms, some don't, and they are all Welsummers.

I'm sure they're convinced I'm trying to poison them or something. At least that's the look they give me when i call them for treats and all i've got is earthworms. I haven't seen them find them on their own but the reaction is probably similar. I havent seen any even attempt to try them. They go crazy for crickets though.

Mine have their own preferences. They like earth worms as chicks but most don’t like them now they’re mature. Some will eat slugs, some won’t. Some will run after beetles, even mice, others don’t. They’re just like us with their tastes and preferences.

I have hybrids, bantam and large pure breeds and mixes.

Not all of mine like worms, or dried fly larvae. They all have their own preference, my flick is a mixed flock of breeds.

My flock of Red Sexlinks is crazy about worms. Whenever it rains, I go outside and lift up boxes and things like that to find worms. It's so funny watching the worm dangle out of their beaks while the other hens chase her!
Now, there is 2 hens who couldn't care less. They never eat any treats or hang out with the rest of the flock, they're loners.
Other than them, the rest of the hens will kill for worms. (Well that's what it seems like!)

Oh our hens will run laps around the place with little beetles hanging from their mouths while other chickens chase them, and the goats in the middle of it all are completely and utterly confused. Very entertaining to watch

Not meaning to turn this into a chat room, but...

Our neighbor's goats used to escape into our yard all the time. One day the goats decided to go into our backyard and meet the chickens! The flock was very excited to have some guests! All 12 chickens (11 now ) ran over to the goats to greet them! The goats were terrified of the flock and ran home.

The goats also used to drink out of the bird bath and they went on our porch and ate my mother's flowers. Luckily our neighbors fixed the fence and they haven't found a new way to escape yet.

I can't dig in my vegetable garden without an army of hens just waiting to snatch an earthworm from under my spade. They like mealworms but earthworms are definitely the hit. The only one that doesn't eat them is the rooster, but he likes to eat mealworms. My dog has also taking a liking to oatmeal that I give to the chickens as a treat. He gets really upset that I am giving it to the chickens and not him.
