Do your chicks hate finger nail polish too?

When my chicks were little (and I guess they still do) they would peck and bite at my nails, but only when I had painted them. They couldn't stand it.

I was currious if your chicks do this too. Its kinda strange. They also didnt like the moles on my arms and acctually bit one off, lol.

Most birds will readily peck at anything colorful.I raised 17 royal palm turkeys baaaaaa they were Alway's pecking at my pink or red toenails lol.

They don't hate finger nail polish, exactly opposite! Anything shiny, colorful, interesting, or possibly a bug/insect (like a mole) is game for checking out and possibly eating!

When I go out to offer some scratch at night, the girls always favor the hand that my wedding ring is on. They all peck at it and try to snatch it off of my hand, and it gets kinda painful sometimes....they just like the shiny things and either think they are tasty, or need immediate killing....I'm not sure which....

Mine love to chew at my finger nails when painted too! The best was when my green St Patricks Day polish started chipping.

Oh they Love it! My DD found out the hard way, she walked into the run with flip flops on with bright painted toes.... They wouldn't leave her alone!

Chickens love bright, shiny, sparkly or unusual things. They peck at all of it. Don't let them get too near your eyes, they will peck those too!

I have to say when I first read the title of your post... I thought you had painted the chickens nails!!!

Sorry!! But, I noticed mine go after any contrasting colors... nailpolish on my fingers... polka dots on my boots, a pen mark on my hand...
