Do your chicks let you pet them??? (PICS ADDED POST 1)

I've had 12 sexlinks since they were less than 12 hours old. I don't feed by hand, but I stroke their backs, hold them and allow them to fly to my shoulder occasionally. I like having hens I can handle for those times when I must...

I have a bunch of chicks that let me pet them even on their head. Odd chicks. Black copper marans and the frizzles will let me handle them anytime. Not at all scared. I am thinking this is not good since they will be free range chickens this spring. They will be a little too fearless...maybe. I just love the frizzles. Nice birds. The EE's are NOT friendly. They are aggressive. Wicked. I won't be keeping all of them. Maybe just a couple of the milder ones. The silkies have not been petted so they just move away from my hand. They are nosy though. I could probably feed them some worms or something and they'd come around. The chicks that just hatched a couple of weeks ago are not friendly. They are very scared. I have no clue why.

My Delawares do, my bantam barnevelders do, my penedesenca DOES NOT, sebrights do not either. So, yes and no.

It's so cool to see how many people can hold or pet their chicks. I would have never dreamed (before i got chickens) that they would actually LIKE IT!

(psssttt. I added pics... post #1 )
