I got 2 geese and 4 pekins.

Let me tell ya.. they are gentle ducks when I feed them letteuce or 'crawl' up to them while their laying in the grass... let me pet them, .. and I'll often sneak my head towards their feathers cause its soft.. hahaha (going to far?:p)

Anyways.. tonight they always like to go to their pen but its locked until I get there, so they wait patiently at the door for me.. Anyways, I let them go in tonight but one must have had a brain fart and didn't go in. So when I went in there and counted, only 3 ducks and 2 geese. Went back outside and he was standing there. So I tried to grab some feed and put it in my hand, he came up and I couldn't snatch him in time (he must have knew). So I quickly just went behind him and managed to pick him up quickly....

Good god, I've got about 4 scratches and a ear that is ringing a really LOUD quacking sound. JEEZ.

They REALLY hate being picked up, or he was just really scared that he was away from his flock?

Mine don't have a problem being picked up, but I've read that others do. It has to do with how much holding time you have with them when they are babies. One of mine squaks very loudly when seperated from the other....

Once we catch ours, and once they are in our arms...they will calmly sit still in our arms lol You can tell they still don't like it and we held them alot when they were little

I have absoluetly no problem with mine. infact i have the oposite problem. i have two rouens which i hatched and quite honestly i didnt handle them alot when they were babies because or fearing to hurt them and only when they started getting bigger would i hold them. my problem is they wont leave me alone. when im in the house i cannot get away from them. they will hop on my bed or wherever i am and cuddle up or just stand on my chest looking at me. if i dont pick them up or lock them outside they getting really upset and peck my feet and hands when they come in and then stop and cuddle up again.

check out this video to see how much they like it
