I have my ducklings brooder out in a little shed like house. Nice, warm and secure I assure you. The things is they are about 2 or 3 days old and I have spent A LOT of time with them and when I leave they start to chirp loudly like they are crying. It upsets me greatly. I try to leave when they sleep but sometimes I can't or they wake up. Anyone have the same problem?

Mine do that too. I think it's a baby duck thing. They have the right temp, food, & water. Mine usually quiet down when I talk to them.

Yep, that's it. I talk, they quiet down but it makes me feel HORRIBLE.

I wish they wouldn't do that but I want them to be super friendly and attached to me so maybe its not such a horrible thing, like they are missing me.

try giving them a stuffed animal, mine seemed to settle down with one... i have the opposite problem now, they aren't real friendly....

Yes they do...And it means sometimes I have been late for work in the morning because of it. I feel so bad I have to pick them all up and cuddle them again before I leave. Some groups have been better or worse than others.. But they all notice when I leave the room. and starting peeping for a few minutes.
