today was my 18 week check up. I was suppose to have an ultrasound done today, but they overbooked themselves and couldnt do mine and 3 other ladies. I was so mad. To me this was pretty much a 45 min long waste of a trip. The only good thing was i got to hear the heartbeat again.Tony had to take of work today, so he could take me to the appointment, so it was more then 45 minutes to him,it was a days pay.

That is so annoying! Our peditrician got so bad about being over booked that we had to get a different one. We never did get the kids in to see him once when they were sick, because they never had any appointments for like a week.

Sorry, it is very disappointing especially when you waited for this visit. If it was a simple over scheduling that caused the problem you may want to consider finding another doctor. It shows lack of concern and caring. Also, if they can't get office visits right, do you really want to put you and your baby's lifes in their hands. Just a thought.

If I had a bad cold or anything like that, my doctor wont see me for at least two weeks later. So I end up going to the Express Care center instead of the ER which I dont need to go in there for a bad cold or flu and its not an emergency crisis situation.

I've been hearing alot of doctors in our town are moving out or not accepting any patients or bumping patients off to another doctor.

I am a retired RN. Don't even get me started with the quality of medical care in this country, never mind the drug companies' influence, and MD's prescribing $400 rX's to people who have been laid off and for whom a cheap rX would do as well. (Guess who wins here....)

The OP is kind of stuck with what she has, sorry to say, being pregnant -- but for most things I go with alternative care. And I have Medicare.

I'd like someone to demonstrate to me that we are better off than countries with socialized medicine..... they have their problems, but looks to me like we are even worse off.... I believe we are the only "first world" country without socialized medicine.

And in most ways I am not a liberal!

So grateful that we don't have socialized medicine. It will become one of America's worst nightmares when it finally happens.

Don't get me started.
