Now that three of the goats were sold last week, (they are now lawnmowers on over 1200 acres about an hour south of here), the head goat "Shortnin" is thinking she has to reestablish her position in the herd for some reason.

I took these photos the other day after milking.

Here she is getting ready to head butt Shadow.

Here they connected, it is very gentle butting action. But I was surprised to see her rear up like that.

Here are Ducky and Countess watching the show.

Funny this photo reminded me of an old one I have of Spartacus when he was a pup learning to catch a frisbee. Same type of "flying ears" ...

I cropped and lightened the photo a bit.

it took me a minute to figure out that spartacus wasn't a dog. Cool flying goat!

Spartacus IS a dog... A Cane Corso, Italian Mastiff to be exact.. he is only about 5 months old in that photo.

I can sit for hrs and watch kids and new does butt heads while playing and learning their place in the herd. They look like they are going to hit so hard and then hardly hit at all. Now the big bucks are a different story! lol

What great shots you got. I love those flying nubi ears.

Interesting property you have there with the ball field and mountain range. Do you have trouble with kids hanging out on the other side of the fence?
