does a duck peck hurt?

I have a Muscovy duckling, Numa, that "pinches"...aka BITES constantly, she's doen it since she was a hatchling.

I have nick named her "pinchey duck", sometimes it hurts & i swear it feels like she's putting all her strength into piching you, lol. But I am used to it now... but it's still hilarious seeing her do it to innocent, unsuspecting people (usually family) that just wanna pet, move or clean the cute little baby duck

guys is it normal for the ducklings to try and escape when you are holding them? they dont peck they just wriggle a lot and try to jump out of my hands, i was holding them yesterday the day after they hatched and they fell asleep in my hands but now they are fast im scared to pick them up incase they jump out of my hands!

the day after they hatched they were probably still very tired... Now they are more active...someone on here told me they just arent always cuddly. Their instinct is not to be all buddy with a giant human. Im pretty sure they have to learn that. My babies are a week old now and they still run and scream everytime i pick them up. But i do it anyways. lol

i bribe the ducks with oats soaked in water, i put them on my hand so if they dont come near me they dont get a treat lol seems to be working everytime i put my hand in the brooder they run over and start pecking until they realise i dont have the oats

Most of my ducks don't peck hard. When they do, it is just as a greeting or to look for food.

I do have one Drake that is extremely aggressive with his pecking. Especially since he's become an adult he will peck and hold on for a second or two and leave a small bruise (no bleeding, tho). There are ways to discourage it, but I haven't really read up into them.
