Does a heated auto-waterer exist?

That's about what I thought. The new coop is on the north side of the house and gets lots of shade. That's nice when it's 98 degrees, like now. On the "bright" side, it is also out of the wind. Colorado winters can be pretty chilly at this altitude, but my spoiled rotten flock is used to a heated barn. I'll have to look up bird bath heaters. As an electrician in a former life, there will be power run to it

I use this one in a 5 gallon bucket with nipples on the bottom. It is bullet proof in construction and has worked down into the teens here. It cycles on and off by temperature. I run it off a 12 gauge extension cord.

It is available several places on line.

I took a 5 gallon heated water bucket and put nipples on it, hoping it works well this winter . The bucket on turns on if it hits a certain temp. It was pretty easy to make.

Thanks, kids! I'm weighing my options right now, though none of my chooks have ever seen a nipple waterer. I imagine they would learn pretty quick if they got thirsty enough.

I took all other water sources out of the coop and they were pros about 4 hours in. I didn't believe they would use it, but they are pretty smart considering :)
