Hi, I have khakis and runners and am curious if they crossbreed would their babies be good layers like their parents? And what other breeds crossed with Khaki would make good layers because I'm thinking of getting more ducks.

I have two KC crossed with chocolate runners. Although they're super pretty, they look like dark chocolate khaki campbells, they're terrible layers! But that could just be mine!

My runners are also chocolate. How often do they lay?

Purebred runners, no clue... I don't have any!! My KC/ runner combos, 3 maybe 4 eggs per 7 days. My pure KCs, every single day.

Sorry, I meant how do your runner mixes lay. Three-four a week isn't that bad- still better than some breeds, but not quite enough for me.

I'd go with pure khakis then. My KCs lay every day. They went to 3-4 a week during November and December, but they're right back at it now.
