Does an egg change appearance before hatching?
does it thin a little? get spotty?

I have one green egg that looks like it's getting spots - due tomorrow

I have only done about 5 hatches, and never seen them change, but I am far from experienced enough to know for sure!

No, I can't say that I've noticed anything like that in a good egg...only those with bacteria growing in them. They sometimes get a kind of splotchy look to them.

bummer, was hoping all 5 would hatch, but if its bacteria, that makes sense.

Kiwi, keep us posted, but that is my experience, if an egg gets spotty...to me the only way to describe it is like your looking at the egg, and it looks like it has dried grease spots...you know when you cook and splatter grease on your shirt, it dries and then you have that spot...that is what Im assuming your talking about?

Mine did this on 3 eggs once, and they stunk bad inside the egg...of course you know they didnt hatch.

GOOD LUCK!!!
