Cute dress. My DD's homecoming is next week but they don't dress up for the dance--sweats and tshirts

Can you not partake in the local school's functions/activities? (I am asking more for education as my DD wants to be homeschooled, but I haven't decided yet)

I'm not sure about that, but there are those that teach homeschool dances that also do homeschool proms. My friend if I remember correctly went to a homeschool prom last year.

Come to think of it, I think in some places you actually can participate in schools' extracurricular activities. I know that you can even do public school at home sort of. (I don't mean just during lockdown.)
There's also homeschool co-ops where you can learn different things like lego building, singing, soccer, cooking, there's classes that help make math more fun, and others.
At least here in TX you can also find local homeschool groups that is mostly just for to parents to support and help each other and for the kids/teens to meet and have fun. My homeschool group hosts a monthly Teen Night (that's really teen AND parents night, lol), which is super fun.
