Maybe there is a BYC'er close to you who could hook you up without having to ship.
I agree with the poster who says shipped eggs might not be the best idea for a test run. Shipped eggs may or may not hatch for a HUGE number of reasons. If I were closer, I'd happily give ya a couple dozen.

There's a farm about 10 miles from us that sells brown eggs, and I know they have roos. Are there any other people around you who sell eggs and might sell you a couple dozen fertilized? They may be barnyard mutts, but some mutts are the prettiest birds!

How far from Box Springs are you? My duck layes eggs daily so doesn't my Bantum sex-link and all eggs should be fertile! If you aren't to far you can have some of these eggs if you like.
