What about a North Holland Blue? I have a book that shows the different chicken breeds & will post the pic below. It is really confusing bc a few different breeds have the same black and white look.

Good point. There are so many different breeds that are Barred. They are not automatically a Plymouth Rock just because they are Barred
Oh wait, wait a minute....do you also mean every black dog isn't a Labrador? You're freaking me out, here!Good point. There are so many different breeds that are Barred. They are not automatically a Plymouth Rock just because they are Barred![]()

So do Plymouth Rocks!Just throwing this out there... Labs aren't just blackthey come in an abundance of colors, including but by no means limited to: black, chocolate, yellow/white, silver, red, etc![]()
No need to laugh at those trying to help...
Jeesh![]()
And that there was a much nicer way of saying it, yes?So do Plymouth Rocks! I bet a lot of folks who read this, even if we were being sarcastic - will have taken away from our posts that other birds come in Barred as well. Just like many breeds of dogs are black: many breeds of chickens are Barred.Barred Cochin
Barred Wyandotte
Dominique
Barred Leghorn And that's just the pure breeds... Barring is seen in SO many crosses.. Just trying to explain while the above bird is barred, it is NOT a Barred Plymouth Rock
If I was laughing at anyone, it was myself and aoxa. We can both take it, trust me. I was making a point. aoxa got it, and so will many of the folks that "live" here. Didn't think it was particularly mean. There are a group of us here who spend hours helping, educating folks simply out of the goodness of our hearts. That was just a different way of making my point. And as aoxa pointed out, I'm sure more than one person will read my post and have a little light bulb go on, making the connection that color and breed aren't the same.Just throwing this out there...
