Does anybody know what breed of chicken this is?

Aoxa is right. If it were a full Barred rock cockerel it would have a lot more white since it would have two barred genes. If you look at a BR hen (which only has one barred gene) in coloration it looks very much like the OP's rooster/cockerel. We bought a "barred rock pullet" this spring that ended up being a cockerel that looks identical to the OP's bird. Looking back at our chick pictures, I'm 99.9% sure they sold us a black sex-link cockerel. Was kinda mad about it, but he's a sweet little guy and I hope he can stick around for a while.

I'm thinking about doing a Barred EE sex link. But what will I do with all the males? I feel bad offing them.. I do have a source that will do it and use them after for reptile feed, so they wouldn't go to waste. How do I stop myself from the bad feelings about that? Well at least it wouldn't be as cruel as what hatcheries do right?

They would be absolutely no good for meat. My Barred Rocks grow slow, and EEs weigh like nothing. The females would be very good layers though!

I've contacted our local wildlife rehab place. They have a large raptor program and have agreed to take them, live. They have a CO2 chamber set up, so I wouldn't have to dispatch any chicks. I did research making a small chamber to euthanize them and sell for reptile food, but the rehab place is closer. I'm okay with it...eagles gotta eat, too. Course, they'll probably be a few hanging around "just to see how they look when they grow out"

cause I do love me some roosters. The Hollands aren't too big, so I probably won't bring any up for meat either.

Would you be using your "real" Rocks for that? On the one hand, it kinda seems a shame, but on the other hand, the offspring would be stunning!

Yes, I'd use my real Rocks for it. With my beautiful EE rooster Groucho.

Now if I can just convince myself to stop hatching the Barred Plymouth Rocks I can try it. lol. I have hatched 218 BPRs so far this year. I haven't kept a single one. Sold them all! Must hatch some for myself. I'll be more selective on my girls and use the extras for the sexlink EE project.

Oh, he's beautiful! They'll make pretty offspring, both the hens and the roosters should be eye-catching.
