does ANYBODY know when(IF?) cockerels are viable for being dads?

I certainly won't hold my breath waiting for anything to hatch out after all I have been reading on the FAQ page about how to tell if an egg is fertile. I know that people use bators and watch the temp/humidity exactly and STILL nothing happens. I just had a feeling that doing it the natural way might work better(as I certainly can't afford ANY sort of bator now) so will certainly get back on here in a few weeks with HOPEFULLY a miracle of chicken birth. as far as eggs being fertile, the one I saw this a.m.(I cooked for son) had a BIG perfect white spot on it. don't believe it was bullseye'ish but I don't see the best. it WAS big though.
