Does anybody make money with their quail?

They sell them on Craig's list here.
Day old $1.50, Then they go up from there.
I paid $2, $3 each for mine But I've been feeding them for a Month. Some of them are just starting to lay.
$50 got me 19 assorted birds.

I have yet to caculate electric cost for running the incubator.

I was out bid twice on breeding pairs of Bobwhites in the Green Dragon Flea Market auction. One pair went for $17 each! another earlier went for $8 each.

You forgot to add in the cost of the feed.... and if you really want to get technical, you can start figuring the labor charges for the amount of time you put into it.

I'm making decent money. I'm still repaying my startup costs of the incubator, the birds I bought, and the cages I made/bought, but in a few months I hope I will be in the black for all of that.

Last month I made about $400 in bird sales, chick sales, fertile egg sales and eating eggs sales. I sell my males for $5-10, my mature females for $15-20 and my chicks for $5 up to three weeks and $10-15 up to 6 weeks.

Keep in mind these aren't american dollars, but I'm just pleased to be covering my costs and repaying my startup gear.

No I didn't. The question was what can you get for quails, not what does it cost to raise them.
But here 50 pounds of game feed is about $20.50. I have used half that in one month.
And chick feeders and other equipment that is needed is very expensve.
But as I found out while raising rabbits you can get to the point where it makes more sence to just raise enough for yourself. Because your only making enough to raise the meat for other people, not enougjh to help pay for feed to feed out you own meat.
It is just better to let people raise their own.

What is the going rate for a dozen Quail eggs to consume? I have considered to try to sell some eggs to pay for my feed and other misc cost. I plan on raising them to help feed my family so if I can come out better and find a way to cover any additional expenses I could feed the family free maybe...who doesn't like free! Or at least for the meals when its quail or quail eggs lol. There is only one place I've ever seen Quail eggs for sale and that was a Asain market about 25 minutes from me. I do not recall how much they were a dozen though. So they are not easy to find but maybe because no one wants them where I live who knows.

I sell them for $3/dozen for eating and fertile for hatching for $1 each (plus I throw in some free). Just half an hour ago I sold 100 to a lady for $85 and have another lady at work waiting for more for eating, though now I have to save for my own incubator so it might be a while. I've sold a total of about $170 in hatching eggs in the last 2 weeks, I've had a bit of a run on them.

Again, I'm not in the US so your best source of advice would be someone selling in the same area as you, as quail are not that common here and only a few supermarkets stock quail eggs.

Cheers

I think it will really vary by your area how much you will make. I sell day old chicks for $1, and sexed chicks at two weeks old for $3 and eggs for $3 a dozen. I do this as a hobby and as a source of food in meat and eggs. I only have three breeding quads but last month made $155, butchered twenty males left over after all the females sold, ate about three or four dozen eggs and all total spent $20 on food for them plus whatever the electric bill was for running two incubators steady.

For me it works out as net profit.....plus I get to hatch out hundreds of little chicks which is the fun part anyway!
