Does anybody mix their own feed?

Is this a good idea? Can you do it organically? We only have 5 chickens, so I was wondering if I could make a better laying feed myself? We are only having chicken for eggs and friendship

Yes you absolutely can.

But, for me to sit here and explain it would take an eternity. Try googling the concept and I'm sure you'll find articles. I know something like this appears every year in virtually every chicken magazine out there.
