Every day at 4:00 I go out and get the geese fresh water and make sure their food is fine. After I get them water I move their food and water containers to other spots in the yard so it doesn't ruin the grass. I also water the grass every single day to make sure it doesn't dry out. Bad grass is the ugliest thing ever to me. No offense if any of you have "bad grass", I prefer it to be bright and green!

I wondered about this. We bought 4 4x2 pieces of sod to rotate through the house since the weather is still a little too cool and windy for Jupiter to be out for more than a half hour. I noticed by the end of the day the sod turns yellow and is worn down to nubs. We definitely don't want that in our yard, but since it is only her, I think it will be ok. As she is able to spend more time outdoors, I plan on rotating her exercise pen every hour to different sections of the yard. I change her water and feed 4 to 5 times a day as it gets mucky after a few hours.

Rotate twice a day!!! Wow! I let my geese run the grass to the ground (not mud) then I move it, so it has time to grow bright and green by the time they destroy the next part.

My husband doesn't want her on the front part of the yard that can be seen from the road. I'm hoping to show him that by rotating the pen every hour, that she won't ruin his nice lawn. We spent about 2 1/2 hours outside today. I ended up rotating the pen every half hour, keeping her next to me while I gardened. Eventually, I let her out for a very short side by side stroll around the garden. She also got to take a bath outside and dry herself in the warm sunshine. She is a cautious one, inspecting things slowly. It's kinda cool thinking about life from her perspective. Everything is brand new in this great big world.

You should let her walk around freely! Only while you're there

I did a little bit today. My fear is that loose dogs (it happens with some regularity in our neighborhood) will charge at her. We also have some very, very poorly behaved poorly parented children who live down the street. They had an air pellet gun and had gone into the retention pond area to shoot at the ducks. My husband got the county to put a combination lock on the gate to keep them out.

That said, I let her stay by my side as I gardened. She stayed right next to me. When she was in the pen, she was fine with it. I set up a nap area for her there. She is such a sweetie pie.
