Does anyone feed fish eggs to their chickens?

I think that I've attempted it before with my mature chickens (we eat salmon roe on rice, and sometimes you can't finish a bowl). From what I remember they weren't too fond of the stuff--it tastes like salty fish-juice.

It would probably be pretty good for them if you can make it palatable. If I have leftovers I'll give it a shot and report back.

I personally have never liked salmon eggs--too salty and kind of sour.

Now the little ones(flying fish and the like) now those are good! Sweet and crunchy.

I'm thinking that steelhead would be similar to salmon, though.

If they won't eat them--freeze the eggs as feed for something else. I use roe for my animals when my hubby goes fishing. I forget the ones he catches--they are pretty big and have lots of teeth. Really tasty and not too fishy. I didn't try the roe for myself though, yuck. Maybe you could dehydrate the roe to mix in with feed?
