Does anyone feed their chickens...

lol, Iono, I figured I should start marketing mice pinkies and rat pinkies LOL
I raise 'em for reptiles too and have a friend who does too in large quantities

They are so fun to feed to chickens! They go Ape-Crap over them!
They will watch me intently and they know what a Flying-Pinkie looks like!

My chickens go hunting for mice daily..really who needs a cat

then after the successful catch they play tag until the mouse is all gone very seldom does a day go by without them getting at least one to eat.

mine do have 30 acres to find these little treats though

I never thought about pinkies but it would be a great source of protein especially in the winter months. Now if someone would catch that darn gopher digging holes everywhere I'd be really happy.

We used to have a lot of geckos around the house - before the chickens were allowed to free range - Where have all the geckos gone.....Long time passing.....

They eat toadies and tree froggies too. I have not seen any for a long long time. - Before it got cold even.

YUP they are omnivorus!

Mine LOVE lizards!! If we see one on the porch or something we'll catch him and throw him in the run, then the keep away game starts! I love watching them play like that!

While it is a good treat keep in mind that ANY type of rodent can carry some extremely nasty viruses, bacteria and parasites. Even frozen rodents will still carry them.
If you feed them infrequently and in all likeliness they should be fine but it CAN be a potential problem.

The smell of dead rodents WILL attract predators and pests.
