Does anyone have a pvc feeder like this?

Motts, I made one like that for my chicks and they were able to thrash feed out of the sides of the fence post cap. I don't know if that's because they're still small, I might try it again when they're fully grown, or perhaps pellets it might work better with it.

I also made one like LoneOak posted with drain pipes and 45-degree bends, and I had a problem with food sticking in the elbows and had to whomp it to get the chick crumbles to fall down, BUT it was very wet the month I tried it and again, pellets probably work better with it.

Right now I have one of these dealies from Tractor Supply hanging: http://www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/harris-farms-hanging-feeder-10-lb

The spokes keep the chicks from thrashing feed out the side, and I put a funnel on top to keep them from trying to perch up there. It's been the easiest to refill/maintain so far.

All that said I'll probably go back to the homemade feeders once they're grown because they won't take up space in the middle of the coop.

Does anybody put their feeder together with some sort of reducer inside? I read about that on another thread.

Quote: I'm in Lithia Springs just 2 exits west of Six Flags near Thornton Rd. If you're interested I can build you a feeder for a small fee. You're also welcome to come visit the LoneOak Terrace and take the nickel tour just about anytime.

That could work, it would have the effect of lowering the level of feed in the bottom tray so it would be harder to flip out. Another option that might work is putting one or two separators in the tray to force them to peck instead of thrash.
