Planning a coop and run with dimensions, 8' x 12' for the run and the 4' x 8' coop will be raised 18-24" above one end of the run. 96 sq/ft for run and 32 sq/ft for coop.

I was planning for the run floor to be wood with a rim a few inches high to contain sand or wood shavings. This would allow the coop/run to be moved if need be. Should be easy to clean also.

I haven't seen anyone talk about a run that isn't using the ground. Does this make sense?

I am not sure if it makes sense, but we just completed ours and it is approximately the same size as yours with a wood floor . We wanted the chickens to be safe while we were at work, so there are 6' tall sides that are covered with 1/2" hardware cloth as well as the roof which is 1/2 metal roof and 1/2 hardware cloth. The pullets arrive Friday we shall see how it goes.

Thanks, this is our first try at this and it seems easiest and secure also. Our chicks will arrive in 2 weeks, so we have awhile before they will go into the coop.
