Does anyone have a strain of Orpingtons that are truely dual purpose

my boyfriend and i purchased some cornish hens from a co-op... and let me tell you, they are huge compared to the other chickens we got at the same time. they are 3 times the size of the sussex chicks. i was very impressed bc it did say that they were fast growers but i didnt expect this..i am hoping to get a rooster in the mix and i think these will be our main meat birds, besides the road island reds

The problem is, you can't breed them. They get to big so the males can't mount the females and even if he did, it could be too much for the hen to handle.

Not to mention, they don't lay many eggs.

blahhh.. u just busted my meat bird bubble..lol i guess we will stick to the road island reds as they are looking pretty tasty

If her stock is hatchery, it's the best hatchery stock I have seen. Like I said, I did have some hatchery BO's, and they were much smaller than Gabbard's.
