Does Anyone Have Any Ideas as to What Breed(s) is My Rooster?

Hi Everyone;
I found Chuck 9 1/2 years ago as a chick walking the streets of a northern New Jersey town. Its been quite a ride for us and I love him as a companion! I can tell you he's anywhere between 8.3 and 8.5 pounds. I see a lot of leghorn in him except for some orange feathers, but I'm no expert in these matters. Are there any ideas as to what breed combination he may be?

I could see him being a White Leghorn mixed with a heavy breed of some kind. Its hard telling what he is mixed with though. You can narrow it down to a breed that is single combed and yellow legged though. Like Rhode Island Red or Plymouth Rock. Pea or rose combed breeds would've effected his comb shape. And white, black, willow, or slate leg colored breed would've effected his leg color. Also neither of his parents were barred.

Thanks for the reply! I was also thinking about a RIR or PR, but like I said, I'm not an expert at all. I didn't know enough to look at his leg color, just his feathers. He's of such a great disposition, a real charmer, I would like to a few more, but now I think that might be easier said than done.

How cool is that? Finding a baby chick wandering around, probably scared out of his wits, and raising him into such a fine rooster. Good job!

I'm not thinking about mating him at this point. Frankly, he is old and he's been having a lot of health issues. I know there are a lot of takers for hens, but not so many for roosters. If I could adopt another like him, well, I just want to be prepared for that day. He really is part of my family, half indoor-half outdoor rooster. I have introduced him to some pretty looking hens who seemed to be very interested in him...but time after time he ignored them.
