Hi!

I live in ohio and am thinking about buying goats. I fell in love with my neighbor’s Nubians but I also love LaManchas. So my question is, does anyone have Nubians or LaManchas for sale in ohio or near the border of Indiana?

It’s not 100% on getting them so right now I’m just looking at options.

Thanks in advance!

Hi. :love

I love the Nubians. :love

I suggest getting a couple of whethers as they are the friendliest... if you don't need to have another chore like milking to do. I prefer dame raised over bottle fed... they are just better adapted IMO.

I see ALL kinds of goaties for sale on the Craigslist farm and garden section all the time. Might be a great place for you to keep a watch. :pop

I was planning on getting wethers!!

I am switching mainly to Nubians, but do have a couple other breeds on the side. I just love my Nubians, they have all been very mellow as adults (extremely hyper and fun as kids!) and super sweet. Lamanchas are as well, but they are more likely to keep you on your toes. ;)

I wouldn't say that wethers are friendlier than bucks or does (it depends on the individual goat), but if you don't want milk right now (just looking for pets) they would be a better choice than a doe/buck would.

I would Google search for reputable Nubian or Lamancha breeders in your area, and maybe keep an eye on Craigslist as well.
