silly question I know, but I am trying to make a pair of shoes for a silkie chicken (I make them for ducks and regular chickens), but those silkies have that darn fifth toe and feathers and pictures and drawing of their feet are only helping to an extent. So I am wondering if anyone within driving distance has silkie chickens I can just look at. Preferably ones that don'tt mind too much on being picked up and looked at. The shoes for a silkie chicken would be used for when a silkie gets injured feet or bumblefoot, or they can be worn a few weeks before a show to keep their feet feathers clean. I can drive maybe 2-3 hours away if need be.

In return, I will make a pair of silkie shoes to the person who can help. So anyone live remotely near chicago? (I am in the heart of the city). thanks in advance!

Nettie, the issue you may run into is that the placement and size of the fourth and fifth toe can vary greatly from bird to bird... a good silkie will have a nice degree of fifth toe kickback but such is not always the case.

I'm sorry,. not trying to make your job harder. If I were closer I would let you come look at mine so you could see what I mean.

And I wanted this thread to stay on top for ya.. Reason I desided to post on this. Dont want this thread to get lost in the mix..
