Does anyone keep a favorite bird inside? if so, how?

I've heard of people keeping their birds inside but I haven't a clue how you go about doing this?
My Husband wouldn't allow me to do it, but for those of you who do... how do you?

It's not a good idea to keep chickens inside. They can't be house-trained and the smell is horrible. Chickens need to be outside with the rest of the flock or they will become lonely and depressed. If you're considering doing this, you need to have a high place off the ground for the chicken to sleep at night and a pile of newspaper on the floors where it walks. If you're going to keep one inside, just go ahead and keep two so one of them won't get lonely. But before you do this, be aware that chickens can possibly die from being kept inside. We can accidently spread deadly diseases to them, and the risk increases drastically if kept inside.
