I would put the corpse in a trap anyway - no sense wasting it - and you can at least catch something that's been poking around

According to this chart, a hawk could be your potential predator.. unfortunately since they're protected, you can't really do much about it. There are ways people try to prevent them from attacking though, like putting reflective items such as cds near the coop, or getting one of those owl decoys and moving it frequently.. anyways, I'm very sorry for your loss of your hen.

Yea ya snooze ya lose ......we were going to do that and went to get the corpse and something took it already Something got to eat anyway ......
