That's not good... That usually means they are malpositioned. Two trains of thought... Leave it and if it hatches, fine, but I have found that they usually die without intervention, so I help, which means pipping externally for it, then waiting to see if it can zip on it's own.

Can you still hear it tapping?

he has got this far and I can still hear him tapping away but doesn't seem to be making that much progress
